Since our official public launch earlier this month, we've had an amazing response from users, and we've gathered some great feedback. The Picisto team would like to personally thank all our early adoptors for that.
Our tool is still young, and we have big development plans in the works. Since our launch, we've added some signicant features to the site. We hope this demonstrates our commitement to innovation and to the success of the product.
We wanted to summarize all our recent additions in a single blog post, to make sure everyone is aware of what's been added.
Photo Printing
You can now purchase a photo print of any Picisto photo collage you see on the site. When you are viewing a photo, you'll see a "Buy Photo Print" button underneath the photo, that looks like the button below.
If you view your account, you'll see all the photo collages you have made in the past, and you can order right from your My Account page.
Since we offer so many different photo collage layouts, the sizes of photo prints available can vary. When you select a layout, you can see what size the photo print will be below the thumbnail. An example is below.
Here is a breakdown of the prices of each print size.
4 x 6 = $0.59
5 x 7 = $1.59
6 x 6 = $1.59
All our photo prints are printed and shipped by our printing partner,
Pwinty. They ship for us worldwide.
New Layouts
Since our launch, we've doubled the amout of available collage layouts from 15 to 32 possible layouts. We're always on the lookout for layouts that users will want, so if there's a particular size and layout you want to try, please
contact us and let us know.
Facebook Timeline Cover Layouts
We have added 7 collages sizes that will fit your Facebook Timeline Cover perfectly. After you create a collage, you'll need to download the collage to your computer, and upload to Facebook. We're working on the ability to add directly to Facebook from Piciso, but we're not sure when this will be ready.
Themed Backgrounds
We have added 4 themed backgrounds.
Our plan is to add new themes as holidays and events occur. For example, our next holiday themed layout might be for Canada Day and Independance Day. If you have any requests for a themed layout, please
contact us and let us know.
Adding Photos to Collages
Shapes
Along with text, you can now add shapes on top of your collage photos. After you add a shape to your collage, you can drag it around the collage to position it, and you can drag the shape edges to resize it.
We've started with a small variety of shapes, including speech and thought bubbles. We're working on adding many more over the next few weeks. If there's any shapes you'd specifically like to have added, please
contact us and let us know.
Usability and Help
We understand that people new to Picisto may not know exactly how everything works. To help the onboarding process, we've introduced various helps, tooltips, and callouts throughout the build process.
For example, whenever you add a photo or text to your collage, we'll show you a help popup that explains what just happened. Here's an example of what you see when you add text to your collage.
We're going to continue to look for areas of improvements and places to add more help text.
Fonts
We know the
Arial font doesn't fit the mood of all collages, so we added several fonts to give some variety. When you add text to your collage, you can change the font in the "Text Options" popup at the side.
In order to add the fonts, we had to utilize CSS3 fonts. This means it may not work in older browsers like Internet Explorer 8. In this case, you'll have to stick with Arial.
Conclusion
We have a long list of features in our development pipeline. Not only are we going to continue to add new layouts and shapes, but we have some awesome new features in the works that we're really excited about!
We're going to focus on innovation and making the best possible product we can. Being "good enough" will not cut it -- we want to have a beautiful product, and that will be the driving factor for our decisions as we evolve the product.
